A Happy, Healthy 2010

Happy New Year!! We were so happy to have my mom offer to watch Conor on New Year's Eve. We were able to go to dinner and a movie with our good friends Jimmy & Kristen. We ate a delicious dinner at Grillsmith (and I had two pomegranite martinis, yum!). Then went to see Sherlock Homes at the Cobb Theater. We had a great night out, and made it home by 10:30. We watched the ball drop on TV in Times Square and toasted champagne with my mom, then headed to bed. A far cry from the crazy New Years Eves of past, but I prefer it this way now :)

Conor, cozy and ready for bed as mommy and daddy head out to celebrate New Year's Eve

I am happy to report that Conor's ear infections, yes he had TWO right before Christmas, are all cleared up. We went back to the doctor today to get him checked out and to get his shots that he missed at his twelve month check up because the poor little guy was so sick (I hope this does not become a habit, getting sick on each holiday). He was a trooper with his ear infections and cutting his FOURTH tooth (top right). He just LOVED the watermelon flavored amoxicillian that he had to take. He would open his mouth and suck it down, wanting more! Thank god I didn't have to force him! He has also become a really good eater! He was weary of the baby food when we started solids, but he absolutely LOVES to feed himself, so bring on the finger foods. I haven't found anything he won't eat. He does NOT want to drink anything but water or juice, but he loves to eat yogurt and cheese so the pediatrician said that should be fine for his calcium and fat intake. He also is taking a vitamin. Wow, it can be overwhelming making sure your kid gets everything they need, but so rewarding at the same time!

Another thing Conor decided to do while we were waiting for the dr. to come in, as he was sitting there in his cute little diaper and nothing else, was to push up from sitting to standing without grabbing on to anything and toddle around the room like a little Frankenstein. Too cute for words really. Then he would fall on his butt and laugh. He is so funny, so independent one moment, then clinging to my leg the next. It is so wonderful to watch him change and grow every day!

Such a cute story about Conor walking at the dr office.
So jealous that I didn't get to drink pomegranite martinis with you.
Love the middle picture of you and Ren...
