So up we awoke at 4:30 am, piled into the car and drove to the airport in the dark. We were, of course, running late and I was freaking out, not helping the situation, but alas we made it there on time and all was well (except for the slight snag of me NOT bringing Molly's birth certificate, so I had to pay for her flight. Don't worry, I got re-imbursed once I faxed them the documents... phew.)
And we were off.
The plane ride started off pretty well, but by the end Molly was pretty much over it and screamed most of the decent. Ya, I was THAT mom, with THAT baby... and she bit me on the way down, just in case I wasn't getting the picture that she was pissed.
We finally arrived in Raleigh and got to spend some quality time with our old neighbors, Charlie, April and their son Eliot. It is great to have friends that you can not see for a year and then pick up right where you left off ...
The rest of the trip went pretty much on that same tone. We did have fun, but it was by no means relaxing. We did have some great moments, and I have to say, Conor get and A+ gold star for his stellar traveler performance. I am not sure if it was her age or just her lack of passion for travel, but I can just say I was REALLY happy once we returned home and got back into our normal routine. So was little miss.
