Spring has Sprung

It is official. The warm weather is here, and for the first time in a long time, I feel that spring excitement welling up inside. Maybe it is because this winter was unusually cold and long... but that northern girl in me is ready for the break, the change of the season that I so desperately desire. I don't get to feel that too much living in Florida, since the seasons are usually Summer, Fall, Summer... but this year is different. I can smell the smoky barbques, I can feel the warmth of the long stretched out days and the rays of sunlight that hang on till late in the evening and I LOVE it.

Easter was always a time in Rhode Island when we would wake up excited to see our what the Easter Bunny had brought, put on our pretty dresses and head to church, then walk in the flower gardens, hunt for eggs outdoors and just in general enjoy the new life that spring brings with it. Flowers blooming, sun shining... good things to come.

My little bunny was so excited to open his plastic eggs and find snacks inside. He accidently got ahold of a chocolate egg here, which I didn't notice until it was almost a smashed, chocolate mess all over his Easter shirt. Saved it in the nick of time though!

Conor was a natural at the egg "hunt". By hunt I mean the plastic eggs that were "hidden" in the grass :) I didn't even show him how, but he just took his basket, found the first egg, plopped it inside and went on to look for the next one.... how did he know what to do? It was hilarious to watch Jilli and Conor toddle around in the grass, collecting eggs, then falling down to spill their whole basket, only to get up, re-group, collect their fallen eggs and continue on, in true Easter fashion. They LOVED it.

After all that hard egg hunting it was pool time! We weren't sure they would like it since the pool was still pretty cold. But they got right in and had a blast splashing and playing in the waterfall.

Welcome Spring. So glad you are here.
